Moving together to ensure water availability for generations to come.
Enhancing public understanding of the importance of water conservation and encouraging the widespread implementation of biopore in both urban and rural areas.
Mobilizing 1 million Indonesians to join the Menabung Air movement.

This initiative was launched by the Maesa Group in 2017, creating biopore holes in Ponorogo, East Java, to enhance water infiltration into the soil and prevent floods.

Water is essential to our lives, yet we often take it for granted. We use it without restraint and waste it carelessly, only realizing its importance when floods, droughts, or scarcity occur.
Menabung Air emerged from this awareness. The movement stands on two main pillars. First: tangible action through the implementation of biopore infiltration holes. We do not actually lack water. However, abundant rainfall often fails to infiltrate the ground and instead flows across the surface causing waterlogging and even floods. Through biopore, we aim to return rainwater to the soil, store it underground, and turn it into savings for the future of our children and grandchildren. Second: education and mass communication for the public. Because biopore alone is not enough. If our lifestyles remain wasteful in how we use water, and if we do not understand how to protect water in our daily lives, then implementation of biopore alone will not create significant impact. We must build collective awareness that water is not only for today, but a resource that must be sustainable across generations.
As the CEO of Maesa Group, a company that depends on water and operates in the ice industry, I believe this is part of our responsibility. We do not want to merely use water. We want to protect it. We want to return it to the earth.
Menabung Air is not just a program. It is a movement. It is a long-term vision. Because we believe that water must be sustainable from one generation to the next.

Greetings for sustainability,
Water issues are no longer a future threat—they are here today. Every year, over 2.5 million Indonesians are affected by floods, and another 1.8 million struggle to access clean water during the dry season. This shows we are not just short of water but lack collective efforts to manage it wisely.
Menabung Air Foundation is committed to being part of the solution. Through education and the implementation of biopore infiltration holes, we encourage communities to return water to the soil rather than letting it flow away uselessly on concrete and asphalt surfaces.
Since the official establishment of the foundation in March 2025, the movement has reached over 36,548 people, implemented more than 5,597 biopore infiltration holes, involved 161 schools, and partnered with stakeholders in 16 regencies and cities. We believe meaningful change starts in communities—from villages, schools, homes, and the goodwill of every individual.
We invite the entire community, especially stakeholders at local and national levels, to join this movement. Let’s leave a more sustainable earth with sufficient water for future generations.
